Sickness Absence Case Management

Sickness absence is inevitable in any workplace; employees will be absent due to sickness or illness.  This type of absence will naturally resolve itself, but for a small number of employees, sickness absence can lead to much longer work time lost.  The majority of which are genuine sickness absences, which will likely end within seven days – this is referred to as short term absence – while recurrent absences lasting longer than seven days could be referred to as long term sickness.  The impact of such absenteeism on work productivity, working environment and the individual becomes the point of assessment for the physician.
